Although
most of these photo sheets show grp Sagittas the home built wood ones are
just as popular, and have proven to be just as fast and
seaworthy. The major difference between the two versions is that the wood boat has a more angular coach-roof, so that it can be readily built in plywood. |
This
home built Sagitta was initially built in three seperate pieces and not
joined until late in the buiilding process. Note, even with the daggerboard version there is a shallow beaching keel to give protection to the hull bottoms. |
The photo below shows two Sagittas at a meeting in Holland. The nearer one is a grp boat, while the one behind was built in wood. |
